I will try to explain this update without confusing everyone. I am not always the best writer.
The boys mom has fought the Termination of Parental Rights for as long as she could by petitioning as many times as she legally could for them. After the Termination of Parental Rights finally happended in August she petitioned again. In this petition she stated (actually her lawyer had her do this) that the claim that Jonathan's dad was Indian (supposedly belongs to the Sasquatch tribe :) was not done properly. What has to happen is that all 15 tribes have to be sent letters (and the letters need to be returned) to verify whether the supposed father belongs to one of these tribes. The social worker received 9 of the 15 letters back. So since they were not all received back the mom wanted the Termination of Parental Rights reversed.
We just got word about a week ago that the attorney's agreed on a settlement without it going to court. So they did a partial reversal of Termination of Parental rights. This means that we do not have to start from GROUND 0. All that has to be done is the 6 remaining tribes have to be sent letters again and once they get them back then we can go forward with the adoption.
The frustrating part is they have never been able to locate Jonathan's supposed father. So who knows if someone by that name actually exists. However, it is law that ALL tribes must be notified no matter what. So we will leave it in the Lord's hands. I am praying for a miracle. I am hoping their adoption is done this year. It is possible this can drag things out until next year.
we'll keep you in our prayers too. I miss you and sorry about their mom who won't do what's best for them. It's so frustrating I bet...

Amazing! I can't believe it's been over 2 years and you are still fighting the good fight. Obviously the Lord has a plan.

Oh Amy!! Keep your spirits high! I have been learning more and more that the Lord blesses our lives in so many ways and that He knows what is best for us. I hope that all turns out well and you will be in my thoughts and prayers!
