A Conversation with a 4 yr old

The other day we were getting ready to go somewher and Robyn was not doing what I asked her to do. So I told her that if she did not do what I asked she wasn't going with us. She would have to stay home. The rest of the conversation went like this...
Robyn: So who is going to watch me then...you or daddy?
Me: Neither
Robyn: Do I get to stay home by myself?
Me: No
Robyn: Then who is watching me?
Me: Someone you don't like.
Robyn: Well, that is a problem because I like everyone in the town!

Is there such a thing as SLEEP?!

Last night (or this morning) my girls woke up at 3:30am. The problem with that is they would not go back to sleep. Dave and I took turns putting them back to bed. It sounded like they were having a party in their room. They are probably just excited about this move. So Dave and I did not get much sleep last night. Dave stayed home from work and took the boys to their Doctors appts and I stayed home with the girls to do some packing. I finally convinced them to lay in LoriAnne's bed and watch a movie on our portable DVD player. At about 10:30 I went and checked on them and they finally fell asleep.

So although the day did not go as planned today...we did get allot accomplished. Of course we are tired but that is to be expected anyways when you are moving (and have children).

I better be off to bed. This will probably be my last blog entry until we get settled in Tennessee. I will post pics of the house at that time.

"Funny" Girl

I was in the back room packing things last night when I heard a noise in the living room. So I went out to the living room to see what it was. LoriAnne was out of bed and had climbed on top of these boxes. She looked so cute on top of them that it made it difficult to be upset with her for getting out of bed.

We have finished allot more packing today so hopefully it is now impossible for her to climb on top of them. However, she is a very determined child (actually her sister is too) so I am sure if she wanted to climb on the top of the boxes she would find a way.

A Special Day to be Remembered

On Sunday the ward had a get together for the outgoing Bishopric and a farwell for us and the Wilhite's. It was a vey special time for our family and we are greatful for all the members who supported it. It is an exciting time in our lives as we are preparing to move to Tennessee but we will miss ALL of our friends in the Huntington Ward. They have supported our family allot during the time my husband served as Bishop. We (I) could not have done it without them.

Brother John Shaw, Bishop David Pendley, Brother Dave Wilhite

These 2 ladies Sister Deborah Dario and Ather Malm are my angels sent from Heaven. I would have never made it through Sacrament Meetings without their unconditional love for my 4 children. I will be lost without you in Tennessee. Actually my kids will not know what to do without their Auntie D and Ather. It is pretty much a guarantee that LoriAnne will have multiple breakdowns without Ather before she adjusts. Please know that you are both loved and very much appreciated. Thank you for everything!!!!!
I will miss our Huntington Ward "Family". We have so many good friends we are leaving which makes it hard to leave. I know we will make many wonderful memories in Tennessee. But I am greatful to have been a member of the Huntington Ward and be among some of the greatest people. Our lives have been changed for the better because of our association with all the members. Thank you!!!

Jonathan's "1st" Birthday!!!

My baby turned 1 today. Jonathan is such a sweet baby boy. He has brought allot of joy to our family. I still remember a year ago when we received the phone call that the adoption agency had 2 boys to place with us. A newborn baby and his 13 month old brother. We had 24 hours to make the decision. We were anticipating having older boys placed with us. I had given away almost all of my baby stuff. But there was no way I would turn down a newborn baby and a 13 month old.
I made Jonathan a fire truck cake for his birthday. He really enjoyed it. His favorite part of the cake was the wheels. He kept trying to take them off while I was trying to get pics of him. He finally was successful and ate 2 of them.

Jonathan still has red food coloring on him from the icing. He was covered with icing by the time he was done. I did not even think that it would be that hard to get the icing off of him in the bath. The important thing is he had a Happy Birthday! We love you Jonathan!!!!!!

Disney On Ice - Princess Wishes

Tonight my sister and I (with our daughters) took my mom to "Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes" for her birthday. It was AWESOME. We had great seats and the girls ALL enjoyed it. I am so glad that we went. I was hesitant on going since it is a Wednesday night and my Thursday's are always so busy with therapy for the boys and afternoon social worker visits. But even though I will be exhausted tomorrow it was worth it. I hope I will have an opportunity to go again in the future.

Pics from JCPenney's

Last Thursday my sister and I took our children to get their pictures taken at JCPenney's. I have to say even though everything did not go as perfect as I would have liked it...it still was fine considering between the 2 of us there was 7 children. The oldest child turned 5 years old on Christmas day. Our appointment was at 10am. We made it on time which I was amazed considering I had 4 girls hair to style and my 2 boys.

My 4 kids, Mikey 2yrs old, Robyn 4 yrs old, LoriAnne 2 1/2 yrs old, Jonathan 1yr old(next week)
This is the ONLY picture we could get of Mikey. AND it took everything to get him to cooperate and smile. But I wanted to at least have 1 picture of him for his 2 year old b-day picture.

Jonathan was very cute while taking his pictures. He really seemed to enjoy it. I was happy that at least it did not take much work to get him to smile. Getting pics taken of the kids can really wear you out.

What a cutie!!!

Jonathan again...

and again....oh soooooo cute!

My sisters childen...Carly 5 yrs old, Jason 2 months, Emily 2 1/2 yrs old

Becky's cute childen again....

Jason's 2 month picture...very cute!!!

This is the CULPRIT for my lack of blogging!

February 14th will be here before we know it. Then we will be off to Nashville, Tennessee. So for now Dave and I have been spending most of our time packing and going through things. It is amazing how much stuff you accumulate with 4 children. Robyn has started her own pile of stuff she wants to bring to Tennessee. We will have everything packed and sent off to Tennessee by Feb. 5th. Then we will stay at my mom & dad's for a little over a week. My mom will fly out with us to Tennessee and then it will be time to unpack everything. So if I do not blog much over the next few weeks it is because I am going a little crazy trying to balance everything.

"A Princess for a Day"/Pirate Party

My mom and dad had a princess party for their grandaughters and a pirate party for their grandsons. The kids all had a BLAST. First the girls made bracelets, while the boys hung out whith grandpa shooting canons from the pirate ship my dad bought for them. Then they all had lunch. After lunch they decorated cupcakes with sprinkles and the girls all had a princess to put on top the cupcake and the boys had pirates to put on top. The girls also had their finger nails and toe nails painted. Then they all got dressed up for pictures.

Robyn does not usually like to dress up but she really had fun being "A Princess for a Day"
LoriAnne is the "little princess" she would stay in dress up clothes ALL the time if we let her. On this day I did let her wear it all day. She wore it to bed even.

Mikey had a great time being a pirate. I was surprised he let me put the eye patch on him. He sure makes a cute pirate.

LoriAnne is singing a song here. She decided to put on a performance for everyone :)

Not much to be said about this cute little pirate. Jonathan just is adorable as ever :)

Here is a pic of all but one of the princesses that were there at the party. For some reason I did not get a picture of all the pirates together.
When I put Robyn to bed that night she said "It was sure fun being a princess for a day, Grandma sure had a Wonderful party". Yes, she did! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for making this a special day for all the grandchildren.

La Habra Children's Museum 12-28-2007

I took my daughters and my sister’s daughters to the La Habra Children’s Museum. (my sister watched the boys) They had a great time. This is the perfect place to take young children. I have already been searching for places like this in Tennessee. I have found a few that look good. We will have to check them out when we move there in February.

Emily posing for the camera w/ LoriAnne in the background.

LoriAnne having fun riding the car.

The girls always love the shopping area. They seem to spend most of their time in that area.

LoriAnne is making sure she has everything she needs.

This bus is always a favorite of the girls to play on.

The girls had fun playing with everything in the "Under the Sea" exhibit.

Of Course the trip to the La Habra Children's Museum would not be complete without a ride on the carousel. The girls were lucky and rode the carousel 3 times this day.

Robyn is practicing filling up her car with gas. A few more trips to the museum and she may be ready to start filling up my vehicle with gas :)

Robyn is funny she had to have a picture with this big "thing"

Yee-haw!

Cute pic of Carly!

Robyn always enjoy playing with this railroad track.

Emily really enjoyed playing in this. She is such a cutie!
When the girls were all done we sat on a bench outside the museum and had lunch. It was a fun "girl's" day out!
